UOW Student Elections 2009
Elections will be held in September/October 2009 for student representatives to the following bodies:
- The Academic Senate
- WUSA (Wollongong Undergraduate Students' Association)
Academic Senate is the peak body for advising the University Council and the Vice-Chancellor on academic matters and broad issues affecting academic excellence at the University. WUSA is the undegraduate students' union at the University of Wollongong. Further information about WUSA can be found on the WUSA website at: http://wusa.uow.edu.au/about
Positions Available
Academic Senate: Elections will be held for the following positions on Academic Senate:
- 4 undergraduate student members
- 2 postgraduate student members

WUSA: Elections will be held for the following positions for WUSA:
- 17 Office Bearers - see Notice of Election for specific positions
- 5 General Representatives
- 5 NUS Delegates

Term of Office
Academic Senate: The term of office for student members of Academic Senate is one year, commencing on 1 January 2010 and concluding on 31 December 2010.
WUSA: The term of office for members of WUSA is one year, commencing on 1 January 2010 and concluding on 31 December 2010.
Nomination Period
Nominations for both elections will open at 9am on Tuesday, 8 September 2009 and close at 5pm on Tuesday, 22 September 2009.
Nomination Forms
Nomination forms for each election will be available from Tuesday, 8 September 2009 from the following links:

- WUSA nomination form
Nomination forms for each election will also be available from the Policy and Governance Unit (located in the Academic Registrar's Division, Ground Floor, Administration Building 36).
Nomination forms for the WUSA election will be also available from the WUSA Office (located on the Ground Floor, Building 11).
Nominations must be made in writing using the Nomination Form.
Lodging Nomination Forms
Signed nomination forms for both elections must be received by the Returning Officer or a Deputy Returning Officer in the Policy and Governance Unit by no later than 5pm on Tuesday, 22 September 2009.
Academic Senate Electoral Rules
Elections for Academic Senate members are governed by the Academic Senate Electoral Rules. A copy of the Rules can be found here.
Voting
Voting in both elections will commence at 9am on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.
Voting in the WUSA election will close at 5pm on Thursday, 8 October 2009.
Voting in the Academic Senate election will close at 5pm on Tuesday, 20 October 2009.
