Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)As an international student, it is a requirement of your student visa that you have student health cover for the duration of your study in Australia. When you are made your initial offer to study at the University of Wollongong, you will have the option to allow the University to organise OSHC through our preferred provider AHM. Once you pay the full amount of tuition and OSHC fees the University will advise AHM that you have paid. AHM will then register you as a member and issue you with a membership card. If you do not wish to go through the University's preferred provider you can elect not to pay the OSHC to the University. You will need to organise OSHC through another provider yourself. When your initial 12 month OSHC is due to expire and you have used the University's preferred provider, you will need to renew your OSHC. You can do this by making a renewal payment at Student Central or by paying direct to AHM. You are free to change providers at any time to any of the other providers of OSHC i.e. MediBank Private, WorldCare Assist or BUPA. Please note - It is your responsibility to ensure that your OSHC is current for the duration of your Student Visa.
