 was awarded an Honorary degree of Doctor of Education at the Faculty of Commerce graduation ceremony on July 14. Dr Finn also presented the Occasional Address. Dr Finn was Chief Executive of IBM Australia from 1980 to 1993 and Chairman from 1991 to 1998. He was also a director of Telstra and chaired the Council of the National Science and Technology Centre. Dr Finn has chaired the Advisory Board for the ARC Key Centre for Asia Pacific Social Transformation Studies (CAPSTRANS). In 1996 he was invited to become the independent Chair of the Board of Impart, one of Australia’s largest e-learning companies, which, with UOW, won the Australian Interactive Media Association Industry award for excellence in 2001.  through its Shoalhaven Campus. It is a joint degree the University delivers in conjunction with TAFE. The students (pictured from left) are Lauren Sayers, Naomi Brown and Amy Dawes. It is understood to be the only Australian university hospitality degree where students attend TAFE and university concurrently and graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) from UOW and the Diploma in Hospitality Management from TAFE.'))
