Jodie Magee: Uppsala University
Semester: Autumn 2007
Degree: Bachelor of Law/ Bachelor of Creative Arts
I have somehow found myself living in Europe! I am absolutely loving it! I think it is strange because up until 6 weeks before I left we all thought I was off to Canada but now its all cobbled streets, Swedish classes, bicycles and padlocks, a fast approaching winter and lastly – but most importantly – a huge craving for steak. On my trip I am visiting Singapore, Finland, Latvia Denmark, Russia, Scotland and France–
I’m so excited!

Kiruna, Sweden
About 40 exchange students, headed up to Kiruna for the weekend. We caught the overnight train there and flew back. And it was awesome, the whole weekend was fantastic. We went to the Ice Hotel, got to ride the snowmobiles, went cross country skiing, had a sauna and ran outside and rolled in the snow, and then after warming up again in the sauna jumped in the lake. We saw the northern lights too!
But I have never seen so much snow, it was crazy, it just didn't feel real. Everyone came back saying that it was the best place they have been to, that it was the greatest weekend. I was told to come here by a UOW past exchange student so when the opportunity arose I jumped at it, it was a great piece of advice!

Latvia
I just got back from Latvia. I caught a ferry over there with two of my Dutch friends on saturday afternoon and we got back into Stockholm this morning. Latvia was really pretty.

It has been really nice in Uppsala the last few weeks; all the leaves have been falling off the trees. But now the trees are looking really bare and it is getting more and more cold! Oh dear!
Love Jodie.
