Exam timetable essentials

Exam periods

The Academic Registrar's Division (ARD) coordinates exams run in the University's official end of session and supplementary exam periods. Specific dates for these exam periods are advertised on the Exam Dates page on this site. You should make sure that you are available to sit exams during the whole exam period, as holidays and normal work and carers' commitments are not considered valid reasons for missing an exam.

End-of-session exams will be preceded by an official study recess, and will not normally be conducted during the weeks designated for teaching in any session.

Exam session times

Exams start at 9am, 1:30pm and 6pm and are scheduled Monday to Saturday.

Exams will not be scheduled on NSW public holidays.

From 2012, most end-of-session exams will be conducted with a standard duration of either 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours. Writing is permitted from the outset.

Exam timetables

Your final timetables will be published as personalised exam timetables in SOLS.

Provisional timetables will also be provided for the Autumn and Spring exam periods, allowing you time to check your timetable for clashes or other scheduling difficulties. These scheduling difficulties should be able to be resolved if you contact ARD immediately - refer to the Scheduling Difficulties page on this site for more information.

Exam timetables may also be adjusted if you have a disability or medical condition and have registered with the Disability Liaison Officer. Refer to the Reasonable Adjustments page on this site for more information.
