Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What time do exams begin?
Exams are scheduled to begin at either 9am, 1:30pm or 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
Q. What if I forget my student ID?
You can also use your current driver licence or passport as photo ID in exams. If you are unable to show any form of ID, you should go to Student Central (at Wollongong) or the Campus Office at other exam venues who will be able to assist you.
Q. Can I use my mobile phone to check the time or as a calculator?
No. Mobile phones must be switched off and stored in a zip-lock bag under your desk. If you are found to have a phone on your person, it will be confiscated and the matter treated as academic misconduct. Clocks are placed around the venue to help you to check the time.
Q. Can I use the toilet during the exam?
If you need to use the toilet, remain seated and raise your hand. A supervisor will grant you permission to leave your seat to use the toilet. Bathroom monitors will be in place to supervise student activity while outside the exam venue.
Q. How can I prepare for my exams?
Read our Exam Tips. Check the Study Information site for information on study sessions and past exam papers. Make sure you are aware of all your rights and responsibilities in the exam venue.
Q. How do I provide feedback about the exams?
We welcome all types of feedback: compliments, comments, complaints and suggestions for improvement. You can give your feedback at Feedback @ UOW.
