End of session exams

If you need adjustments made to your end-of-session exams you need to have registered with the DLO at least three weeks before the exam period begins.

The DLO will advise ARD of the adjustments that need to be made to your exams, and ARD will coordinate the arrangements and let you know any further information.

Communication from ARD

Arrangements for end-of-session exams are made by the Exams Team in ARD.

Provisional exam timetable

In Autumn and Spring sessions, the Exams Team will release a provisional exam timetable which provides the dates and times of all exams. The provisional timetable is NOT adjusted for students with disabilities, but is an opportunity for all students and staff to check the dates and times of exams for any scheduling difficulties.

Confirmation of required adjustments

Following the release of the provisional exam timetable, the Exams Team will contact you to confirm the adjustments that need to be made to your exams.

If the adjustments ARD will put in place are not correct, you should immediately contact your DLO. No changes will be made to your arrangements in the week before exams start.

Final exam timetable

The Exams Team will release a final exam timetable for all exams, which will show the confirmed dates and times of all exams. If you have requested adjustments to your exam dates and times, these changes will be shown in the final timetable.

Venue allocations for your adjusted exams will not be available in the final timetable.

Confirmation of arrangements

In the weeks prior to the exam, the Exams Team will release a version of the final timetable which will include details of the venues for your exams.

You should note that adjusted exams will only be held in rooms separate to the mainstream exams.

Unable to attend exams

If you know in advance that you will not be attending your exam, early advice would be appreciated. You should advise the Exams Team at least 24 hours in advance.

If you are ill on the day of your exam and cannot attend, you should advise the Exams Team immediately. You will also need to lodge an application for academic consideration via SOLS, usually within three (3) days of the exam. The non-attendance fee will not be levied against you if you have lodged an application for academic consideration and submitted appropriate documentation within the deadlines.
