Academic Consideration

If you have not been able to sit a final exam as a result of circumstances beyond your control, you can apply for academic consideration via SOLS.

The Student Academic Consideration Policy outlines the grounds on which you can apply for academic consideration.

Complete Part D - Nature of Assistance Sought with a request for a supplementary exam. Your application must be submitted within three (3) working days of the final exam for the subject, and must include documentary evidence supporting your application.

Your subject coordinator will reply to you by SOLS mail within five (5) working days of receiving your application to advise whether your application has been approved.

In most cases the subject coordinator will forward your details to ARD to register you to sit your exam during the University's supplementary exam period. If this is the case you will receive a withheld - WD - grade and ARD will provide you with further information.

In some circumstances your subject coordinator may decide to make the arrangement for the exam within the faculty. If this is the case you will receive a withheld - WH - grade and the faculty will contact you directly with details of the exam.
