Exam Timetables
Personalised exam timetables showing the time and place of your exams are available from Student OnLine Services (SOLS). Misreading or misinterpretation of the timetable will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to attend an exam.
Advise the Exams Team (exam_unit@uow.edu.au) immediately if:
- your examinable subjects do not appear on the timetable
- subjects you have withdrawn from appear on the timetable
- you wish to apply to sit your exams at a different campus
- you have requested alternative exam arrangements because of a disability and the arrangements do not appear to have been adjusted
Advise your examiner if:
- you have a direct clash and wish to discuss alternative arrangements (see below)
- you are unable for religious reasons to sit the exam at the scheduled time (see below)

Exam clashes
The University gives priority when scheduling exams to avoid any students having to sit exams for two subjects on one day. However it is not possible to eliminate this altogether, and students should be aware that approximately 10% of students in any given exam period will have two exams scheduled on the one day. This is not considered to be a clash situation, and under normal circumstances exams will not be rescheduled.
You may find that two exams are scheduled at exactly the same time on the same day, which is considered to be a direct clash. In these circumstances you should complete a clash form after discussing alternative arrangements with the examiners of the relevant subjects. An examiner may require that you sit the two exams on the one day, under clash conditions. This means that you will sit one exam in the morning and the other in the afternoon, and be supervised during the lunch break.
Requests for Alternative Exam Arrangements should be made to the exams team. Please Contact Student Central
Religious Implications
Students who for religious reasons are unable to take exams on a Saturday at the set time should contact the relevant academic unit for special consideration.
The Imam of the General Islamic Centre has advised that:
- if a Muslim student finds fasting during the exam period impairs his or her judgement, the student can break fasting and refast on a later suitable date, and
- it is possible to combine the noon and afternoon prayer if exams finish after sunset.
