NSW Bike Week

17th - 25th September, 2005

NSW Bike Week is an RTA state wide initiative. The aim of the week is to encourage bike riding around the local community and promote safe cycling behaviour.

WUSA in conjunction with UOW Security Bike Patrol will have an information stall for Bike Week on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, between 12pm & 2pm.

The Stall will address information from WUSA’s Hillary Goh about Illawarra Cycleways and look at Bike Safety.

We encourage anyone with an interest in cycleways to stop and talk to Hilary about her role on the Wollongong City Council Bike Committee and provide her with feedback on future cycleways.

Students and staff are reminded that riding a bike safely to, from and on campus involves the wearing of a bike helmet at all times when riding, at night using lights on your bike and being aware of how close and how fast you ride near pedestrians on campus. Slow down or give pedestrians a wide berth.

Riding a Bike to uni is an environmentally friendly alternative means of transport.
