FREE Bicycle Training
FREE Bicycle Training for UOW Students
Want to learn ‘how to ride right’ to uni, for fitness or just for fun?
All students are invited to take part in a Bicycle Road Safety and Skill Improvement Course. Training is provided through AustCycle - a government-backed initiative offering quality cycling training around Australia.
The next UOW course runs over 5 consecutive days - 1 hour per day - Mon-Fri - starting 29th June.
5 days starting 29th June: 12:30pm-1:30pm each day Venue: UOW Campus, Western Carpark Cost: No cost to Staff or Students (unless booked but not attended*)
If you can't make it for this week, UOW has also negotiated for students to join in with weekend courses the provider has available for the general public, starting as early as 23rd May. These are also provided free to UOW Students*.
By gaining the confidence to ride you can: - save money on petrol and vehicle costs - reduce the difficulty of parking - reduce your ecological footprint - improve your overall health and well-being - avoid traffic congestion
You will benefit from this course if you: - haven't ridden before or for a while - don’t have much confidence on the road - ride regularly but would like to improve your skills for commuting
Skill Assessment Skill levels of all participants will be assessed at the beginning of the training session and training will be tailored to your individual needs.
Bike Hire You can bring your own bike or arrange to hire one from the training provider.
Registration To register for this course, please contact the training provider directly: Radmila 4231 4118, 0449 525 829 or email info@mobilebikerental.com.au Limited places are available.
* Note: There is a $50 "no show" fee to people who book but do not attend the course, or who fail to cancel within 5 days of the starting date.
