Finding print journals in Dubai

Titles of print journals held in the University of Wollongong in Dubai Library are found on the Dubai Library catalogue.

To find a journal title, search the Dubai Library catalogue by Title as shown below.

The results list shows the journal title and the location as Journals.

A number of options are available to you:

Click on the title to view the catalogue record of the journal
Click on the Copies button to view the individual issues of the journal received by the Library and the status of each journal issue. As shown below, if the status is In you can borrow the journal issue.

For some journal titles a number of items are displayed in the results list. In the example below a search for 'Harvard Business Review' has found many books with the words Harvard Business Review in the title. To find the actual journal look at the Type column for the location Journals.

All print journals are kept in the Journals section of the Library. Current issues are on display. Older issues are under the display tray.
Current issues of journals cannot be borrowed. Older issues can be borrowed.

How do I find journal articles from the Library's print journals?

Journals publish a number of individual issues each year. The number of issues published in a year varies from journal to journal. A common number is 12 issues a year, one every month. Each journal issue contains a number of journal articles.

Use an index to find a useful journal article. The index is usually called a database

Included in the list is the index (database) you can use to find journal articles from the Library's print journals. Note: These databases contain a wide variety of online journal articles from many different journals, in addition to the print journals found in the Library.

If there is no index you will need to browse the journal to find useful articles.
