Policies
As a student of the University of Wollongong you are bound by the University's Information Technology (IT) Policies each time you use the University's IT facilities. The University has adopted IT policies which define the acceptable behaviour expected of users and intending users of the facilities. Students are expected to read the policies. Go to the link shown above and then click on the Policies link.
Password
In order to protect the University's information and transactions, passwords on student user accounts must be changed every 150 days. Prior to your password expiring, you will be notified via email. You should click on the link within the email to change your current password or go to the link shown above and click on Managing Your Password. Please be aware that once changed, it will normally take around 20 minutes for the new password to be active.
Password Reset Challenge
The Password Reset Challenge was developed to allow University of Wollongong email account holders to reset their passwords without needing to make a request in person at an authorised centre. It is suggested that you take the time to set up your Password Reset Challenge now. You’ll find it at the above link under Managing Your Password.
Forgotten your password?
If you forget your username and/or password, or if your password expires, and you have not set up the Password Reset Challenge, you will need to make a request in person at an authorised centre to have your password reset – you will need to bring your student identification card with you. It is not possible to do this via telephone or email.
Quota
Students are assigned an internet quota to allow the University to manage internet usage and safeguard the University's capacity to continue to offer adequate Internet access for academic purposes.
