Professor Will Price, Dean of Science

My name is Professor Will Price and I am the Dean of the Faculty of Science.  

The Faculty comprises the three Schools of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences.  

We offer a range of high quality degree programs at both the undergraduate and post-graduate level. We are distinctive in that there is a very strong alignment between our research strengths and our teaching programs, and where our leading researchers are also actively engaged in teaching and learning.  

Our teaching programs have a strong emphasis on active investigation, developing graduate skills and attributes valued by employers and giving students many opportunities to be involved in research and gain work experience. 

We offer a range of three and four year undergraduate degree programs as shown below.  These offerings are very flexible and students are able to transfer between degrees and majors.

1. Three Year Bachelor of Science Degree with a flexible major:

• Biological Sciences

• Geosciences
• Human Geography
• Physical Geography

2. Three Year Bachelor of Science Degree with a prescribed, multidisciplinary, major in:

• Conservation Biology
• Environment
• Land & Heritage Management
• Medical Biotechnology
• Medicinal Chemistry
• Nanotechnology

3.   Specialised degrees:

• Bachelor of Conservation Biology
• Bachelor of Environmental Science
• Bachelor of Marine Science
• Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology

• Bachelor of Nanotechnology
• International Bachelor of Science (Honours)
  

Our research is clustered into six main strengths that are carrying out world leading research on solving global issue and problems.  We also have a strong focus and engagement with our local community.
