UPCOMING EVENTS
A series of oyster industry consultation workshops took place in winter 2011. From the feedback received we have collated and prioritised data streams that are of importance to the oyster industry and that we will seek to include in the Oyster Information Portal (OIP).
At the next series of workshops we will demonstrate the current outline of the OIP and growers will have a chance to use the portal to pass on feedback. We will bring laptops so that the workshop will involve some computer ‘hands on’ activities. No computer skills required! Next workshops are scheduled for:
Wednesday 11th April 2012, Port Macquarie-Hastings area. Already undertaken. great support and feedback from industry members. (Photos below)
Friday 13th April 2012, Shoalhaven/Crookhaven area, Greenwell Point, Oyster Sheds Already undertaken. great support and feedback from industry members. (Photos below)
July 2012 (TBC) Hawkesbury area
- July 2012 (TBC) Pambula area
Oyster growers are encouraged to participate in these workshops in order to:
- Understand how the oyster information portal can benefit the management and future planning of your business
- Learn about the environmental data already available – why they are useful and how you can integrate them in your farm management
- Help us to identify gaps in current monitoring programs, information access, regulatory frameworks and governance structure of your industry
