Topic development
The process of developing your thesis topic takes time and effort. Some units require an introductory seminar in which you detail your research proposal, and are provided with feedback on the scope and content. In other units you may have less freedom to develop your own topic, particularly if you are working with an industry partner, or on a funded grant.
In either case, the development of a research proposal is a useful exercise. It helps you clarify exactly where you are going, why, and how you plan to get there. This section provides some guidance and suggestions to help you:
