Data presentation
Each discipline may have its own expectations for the formal presentation of data, so check with your supervisor. As a general guide, though, consider these points:
- the quality of graphics should be high
- the most communicatively effective type of table, graph or diagram should be used
- photos, tables, graphs and diagrams should be labelled correctly
- elements within visuals should be clearly and accurately identified
- visuals should be introduced, referred to and discussed in the prose surrounding their presentation in the thesis - they do not speak for themselves
