Sediment and hydraulic equipment
A sediment size analysis laboratory employing sieving, settling tube, and centrifuge techniques and a 10-metre hydraulic flume are available. This includes a Malvern Mastersizer 2000 particle size analyser, and a range of analytical equipment.
Reference Collections
More than 20,000 rock, mineral and fossil samples, mostly from Australia and New Zealand, but also from Canada, China, Europe, Indonesia, Iran and USA (many of them thin-sectioned) are catalogued and available for examination.
A pollen reference collection including a range of NSW and arid zone samples, forms the basis of the pollen analysis laboratory.
