GeoQuEST

Environment and Society have interacted since the earliest periods of human history. GeoQuEST members are involved in research projects examining these interactions at prehistoric, historic and contemporary timescales.

Major projects include colonization and human impacts across Wallace’s Line (Roberts), urban environments and suburban backyards (Head), cultures of pastoralism (Gill), fishing and ecotourism (Waitt).

We are also making internationally significant theoretical contributions to the conceptual understanding of space, place and nature.

One of our major research projects examines the urban backyard environment. Click the link below for more information.
