Field Equipment

The School is well equipped for field research in the most isolated parts of the continent with:

  • truck-mounted, trailer-mounted and other portable drill rigs,
  • vitrocorer,
  • surveying equipment,
  • 4WD vehicles
  • boats including the "Pure Logic" marine research vesel
  • radios (codan & VHS) and
  • global positioning systems (GPS).

PESA NSW is offering student study grants of $1500 to students studying in 3rd year or honours, Masters or a PhD in the Geoscience field. Students who are involved in a research project which emphasises petroleum or coal seam methane exploration are eligible to apply.
