Field Equipment
The School is well equipped for field research in the most isolated parts of the continent with:
- truck-mounted, trailer-mounted and other portable drill rigs,
vitrocorer,- surveying equipment,
- 4WD vehicles
- boats including the "Pure Logic" marine research vesel
- radios (codan & VHS) and
- global positioning systems (GPS).
The following GPS equipment is used for both research and undergraduate teaching:

PESA NSW is offering student study grants of $1500 to students studying in 3rd year or honours, Masters or a PhD in the Geoscience field. Students who are involved in a research project which emphasises petroleum or coal seam methane exploration are eligible to apply. |
