Reactions work fast around Mary. She is working towards producing a catalyst that could potentially help to produce more HIV inhibitors. Now in the last stages of her experimental research in the laboratory, she will concentrate on compiling her thesis titled “The Design and Synthesis of Chiral Ligands for the Stereoselective Synthesis of Atropisomeric Axially Chiral Biaryls.” Good Luck Mary! |

Jacqui enjoys working in a wet lab, but she has a slightly different concept of what that is to the average Chemist. Your just as likely to see Jacqui in the water at a lake or beach as in the lab. However she is not too waterlogged when it comes to study. She has completed a double Science/Arts degree and for her 2003 honours project involving arsenic biotransoformation in microalgae, won the coveted prize presented by Australiasian Society for Ecotoxicolgy |
Allan Gamble

Allan, an outstanding student since beginning his degree at the University of Wollongong in 2000, was initially lured to Chemistry by his high school teachers at St Joseph's Catholic High school in Albion Park. They demonstrated to him that science is exciting and can result in a job that is far from routine. Since starting a research project to complete his doctorate he has discovered there are always surprises around the corner. |

Michael is a student going places. Not only has he recently published a scientific paper in the Journal of The American Chemical Society, but he will soon be working at University of Colorado in the United States for three months as part of his PhD project. However it wasn't so long ago that he was completing his Higher School Certificate at Kiama High School. He then followed his passion to find out how and why certain things occur by undertaking a Medicinal Chemistry degree at the University of Wollongong.
