Research Interests

New methods for the asymmetric synthesis of bioactive molecules. The total synthesis of bioactive natural products, especially alkaloids, the synthesis of novel amino acids (selective glutamate agonists and antagonists), anti-cancer agents, antibiotics, anti-HIV and immunosuppressive agents. Natural products and fullerene chemistry.
