The Eureka Prizes are highly prestigious awards for outstanding achievements in Science and awarded annually. Begun in 1990, the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes have grown into Australia's premier science awards. The Prizes have also become the country's largest single national award scheme for research into critical environmental and sustainability issues facing Australia. | ||
Welcome
Professor Nick Dixon is a leading researcher in the field of protein structure and function and has an outstanding international reputation in this field. Nick has many national and international collaborations including a close relationship with our Department through a number of current joint projects with Dr. Jenny Beck. Nick Dixon’s research clearly bridges a lot of work between Chemistry and Biological Sciences in the Molecular Biology / Biological Chemistry area and his appointment is a very exciting senior addition to the research within the Department, IBS and the Faculty more generally. |
|
Travis Naylor, who was an undergraduate student in the Department. After a few years working with Wattyl paints, he has returned to begin work with the Atmospheric Group as a research assistant. |

Glenn Bryant - Is it only four years ago since Glenn joined us as a physical chemistry lecturer in the department? Glenn will be leaving us in a couple of weeks to start a job as an inorganic chemist with BHP in Newcastle. While Glenn will miss working here, he won’t miss that early morning commute to Wollongong from Newcastle each Monday. The department won’t be quite the same without Glenn’s cheerful presence. |
