Biology Honours

The honours year is a very important part of a science degree as it gives students a chance to experience the realities of Research. The completion of a satisfactory honours project is a challenging experience but the rewards are great both academically as well as personally.

It is important to do a project that is personally satisfying as well as realistically achievable in the given time. To achieve this you must be aware of the type of research being done in the School by the various staff members so you can make informed choices at the beginning of your research career. Below are a number of posters that summarise the research being done by individual staff members, to help you in choosing an area that interests you.

Go and see the appropriate academics to discuss projects suitable for both of you. See also their individual web pages for particular projects that the academics are interested in.

There is also a lot of excellent information on the Faculty Honours Site.
