Photosynthesis in Silico

Some of the text fields in the program can be clicked on and will automatically launch the glossary and search for the word under the cursor. Sometimes an eror message is generated if the glossary has not been opened before. Clicking "continue" in the error message dialog box will allow the glossary to open and be searched as normal. This error does not occur if the glossary has initially been opened from the "Glossary Button"

Known Mac Issues:

You must have a full install of Quicktime version 5 or greater. See the infomation in the PC section below.

Known PC Issues:

If you are running PHiS 2002 on Windows2000 or NT you must be logged in under an administrator account for the fonts to display accurately.

Novell Zenworks can be configured to circumvent this issue when deploying to computers running 2000 and NT

You must have a full install of Quicktime version 5 or greater to view the various Quicktime movies in the program. A standalone Quicktime installer is provided on the CD. If after installation the Quicktime movies still do not work, or blank screens are seen at the beginning of movies, perform an internet update via the Update check option in the Quicktime Control panel. Select the option to Update and install additional Quicktime software.

The Quicktime movies have label sprites overlaid on the first frame of the movies which require additional codecs to be installed on your machine to be viewed correctly. Sometimes the standard install of Quicktime does not install the necessary codecs.
