Centre for Environmental Risk Management of Bushfires

The core task of the Centre for Environmental Risk Management of Bushfires (CERMB) is the quantification of bushfire risks and the way these risks can be mitigated through cost-effective management. Contemporary bushfire management is predicated on the concept of risk: an estimation of the likelihood of losses of a given magnitude. The concept of risk can be applied to multiple management entities or values, such as lives and property, biodiversity, infrastructure and ecosystems services. This work covers multiple themes and funding sources.
