Student Equity and Diversity Liaison Officer

The Sydney Business School Student Equity and Diversity Liaison Officer is Ann-Maree Smith.

SEDLOs are members of the Student Support and Peer Learning Team.

Things that a SEDLO might help you with include:

Helping out with non-academic issues that are affecting your studies
Advising you about who the best person or department is to help you resolve an issue
Knowing who in the School to contact about a problem
Assisting you to deal with any international student issues such as adjusting to life in Australia, visa renewals or compliance and dealing with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIaC)
Understanding how things work in Australia eg. health, insurance, legal matters, renting houses etc
Ensuring that your disability, illness or injury is taken into account whilst you study
Support during any grievances and appeals
Giving you information about UOW policies and procedures including what they mean and how to negotiate them

SEDLOs assist any students who may need additional support to stay and complete their studies at university.

Ann-Maree Smith is located on the Wollongong Campus but visits the Sydney Campus regularly.
