Space
In the East Wing we have two seminar rooms which are used for teaching our courses, as well as for information sessions and business related seminars. The rooms vary in size, with seminar room 4 holding up to 75 students. Academic staff and Careers Services also have office space located on this side of the building.
We have a library where students can access books, daily newspapers (SMH, Australian and the Financial Times) and articles. The library includes a photocopier and also has computers so students can access the UPW library database.
There is a student lounge area next to reception where there is a dedicated phone line that links to Uniadvice and ARD/Student Central at ehe main campus in Wollongong.
In the West Wing there are further teaching rooms, three seminar rooms, four smaller meeting rooms, boardroom and staff offices. Students can book the meeting rooms to study, and work on group assignments.
IT Facilities
In the computer room we have 24 computers, printer, coin operated photocopy card machine and a digital projector.
All of our seminar rooms are fitted with a digital projector, and overhead projectors are available.
Sydney Business School Library
Sydney Business School has a Library Resource Room and a full time Librarian to help you with your information needs.
The library holds texts and recommended readings for all SBS subjects and a range of other books of interest to business students.
SBS Library should be your first stopwhen looking for information. If an item you are looking for is not held in our library, we can search UOW and other library catalogues to let you know where it can be located. The library also offers help with database searching both individually and through organised classes.
University of Wollongong Main Library holds many resources that are available online. E-readings, e-books and the electronic databases are an invaluable source of information.
To supplement your information needs, Sydney Business School students are able to join the University Library Australia National Borrowing Scheme. This allows you to join another university library within the Sydney area, use their facilities and borrow from the collection. Please note that this is not available at University of Technology Sydney (UTS). The $50 fee for this is refunded to you by SBS.
ULA National Borrowing Scheme
Sydney Business School students may register with one university library within the Sydney metropolitan area and enjoy borrowing privileges. Excluding the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
There is a $50 fee for this, which is fully refundable by Sydney Business School. To register for this scheme, students must apply in person at the university library they have chosen. To receive your refund please complete a reimbursement form available from SBS Reception. You must also present the receipt given to you by the library you have joined.
Please note:
- You will need photo identification and proof of enrolment to give the institution you are registering with;
- You must comply with all library rules at your chosen library. Late fees for overdue books will apply. Remember you are a 'guest' in their library;
- There may be some restrictions concerning the number of books you can borrow and the collections you can access. This will vary between libraries.
This is an annual membership, valid for the current calendar year only. Regardless of when you register, borrowing privileges will expire on the 28th of February of the following year.
