Ned Kelly—Hero or Villain?

How does a man hanged for murder, become an Australian national hero?

Come and hear one of Australia's leading experts on Ned Kelly, Associate Professor John McQuilton, talk about the man, the legend and how Ned Kelly has moved beyond history to play a role in the lives of Australians today.

John, who is from the University of Wollongong's School of History and Politics, has authored and edited publications such as “The Legend of Ned Kelly”, “Kelly Country: A Pictorial History”, and “The Kelly Outbreak: The Geographical Dimension of Social Banditry”.

Where: Five Islands Brewery, Eastern end of the WIN Entertainment Centre (Cnr Harbour and Crown Streets) Wollongong 2500.

When: 5:30 until 6:30 pm, Wednesday 14 April 2004.
