Title:
Composite cathode Materials for Lithium Ion Battery Using Chemical
Coating Technique.
Summary:
Commercial Li-ion batteries have LiCoO2 as a cathode material
due to its excellent cycle stability and rate capability. However, cobalt is
a relatively rare and very expensive transition metal, so attention has been
focussed on LiMn2O4 with a view to taking advantage of its low cost and environmentally
friendly nature compared to LiCoO2. The aim of this is to develop new composite
cathode materials by using a LCo02. The aim of this project is to develop new
composite cathode materials by using a LCo02 coating on Li-Mn-0 materials. The
expected outcome is a new cathode material which has high-energy capacity, long
cycle life and low cost.
