Australian Synchrotron Postgraduate Awards

Australian Synchrotron Postgraduate Awards have been established to promote awareness of the capabilities of the Australian Synchrotron and to encourage and support outstanding postgraduate students to use this exciting new research facility as part of their research project.

Awards will be offered as a top-up to candidates with an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or an equivalent university scholarship who are enrolled at an Australian university and whose projects make major use of the Australian Synchrotron. Top-ups consist of an annual $7,500 living allowance, plus $5,500 for travel, minor equipment and consumables. The students will normally be based at the university in which they are enrolled and will be expected to spend at least 3 weeks per annum at the Australian Synchrotron.

Up to four awards will be offered in this round.

Awards will normally be taken up at the commencement of the post graduate degree and renewed annually; however under some circumstances a student who has already begun their study may be given an award.
