MOET-VIED - University of Wollongong

Joint Scholarships Program for Vietnamese Doctoral Students

The Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam (MOET) through its Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) office and University of Wollongong (UOW), are jointly offering postgraduate research scholarships to students from Vietnam who intend to undertake a Doctoral research degree at the University of Wollongong. 

Successful applicants will win an UOW-MOET-VIED scholarship, which provides a stipend of AUD $16,800 per annum and an International Postgraduate Tuition Award (IPTA). The cost of the Australian Government approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), for up to three years and the cost of 1 return airfare to Sydney, Research Scholarship - Sea Cliff BridgeAustralia will also be provided.by MOET-VIED.

The University of Wollongong (UOW)

The UOW is located in Wollongong, which is a multicultural city of 400,000 people. It is located 60 minutes by car or 90 minutes by train, south of Sydney. UOW has over 22,000 students, including 5,000 onshore international students.

Application procedure

Students must complete the UOW HDR application form and return this to VIED, who will then forward the applications to UOW. Potential applicants should contact VIED for internal closing dates. > Application form 

As part of the application procedure students must identify a potential supervisor of their PhD studies. 

There are two intakes, Autumn and Spring session, for MOET-VIED students every year under this program.
