9:40am	Getting Started – You, Your Supervisor and Your First Year Your first year requirements, meetings with your supervisor, course progression, policies and guidelines, Annual Progress Report, student and supervisor responsibilities and expectations. Mrs Kim Callaway, Director, Research Student Centre
9:55am	What every Research Student needs to know Responsible Research – Ethics, IP, Authorship, Research Misconduct, Code of Practice – Research, Referencing and Plagiarism
10:15am	Learning Development Free services available for HDR students who wish to improve their academic skills.
10:30am	What Does the Library Offer Me? Mrs Lucia Tome, Library
10:45am	Morning Tea
11:00am	Research Proposal Review (RPR) When and How to complete your RPR. Compulsory in your first year
11:25am	Student Information & Support – Cultural Societies available, Swim/beach Safety, Road Safety, Food services available offering Halal, prayer room facilities, English conversation groups and low-cost sightseeing trips and student support services. 12:10pm	1^st Year on campus from a current HDR student’s experience Miss Sara De Silva, Faculty of Law
12:20pm	Faculty HDR students collect new students, tour of Campus, attend Faculty for lunch
From 2:30pm	Enrolment at the Research Student Centre Students who are not yet enrolled please go to the Research Student Centre, Ground Floor, Building 20 to finalise their enrolment.
