Re-enrolment process

Re-enrolment for all postgraduate research students is subject to satisfactory completion of an Annual Progress Report (APR) and satisfactory progress.

Annual Progress Reports are completed online.

1. Continuation of candidature

If your progress is satisfactory, you will be automatically re-enrolled by staff in the Research Student Centre. You do not need to re-enrol yourself via SOLS. Once you have been re-enrolled, you will be sent a SOLS message. Please log on to SOLS and check your enrolment record to ensure your enrolment details are correct.

It is not possible to amend your enrolment after audit dates.
The audit dates are:

  • Autumn Session - 31st March
  • Spring Session - 31st August

2. Continuation of candidature subject to the following requirements:

If there have been problems with your candidature, the Dean may recommend continuation of candidature subject to one or more of the following recommendations:

  1. Change to enrolment pattern—for example, change from part-time to full-time, or leave of absence
  2. Change to supervision—for example, new supervisor or co-supervisor appointed
  3. Faculty Internal Reviews—the Faculty will review your progress within set period to ensure progress is satisfactory
  4. Probation —formal probation will be recommended to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) for approval

 


Changing your enrolment

Applying for changes to your enrolment

Any changes to your enrolment must be made before 31 March for Autumn session, and 31 August for Spring session. Late applications will not be approved.

Leave of absence

Write a letter to the Student Enquiries Officer, Research Student Centre outlining the reasons for the leave, and specifying which sessions you wish to take leave of absence. The letter must be counter-signed by your supervisors and Head of Postgraduate Studies.

* International students must abide by their visa regulations regarding leave.

Change to part-time or full-time status

Write a letter to the Student Enquiries Research Officer, Research Student Centre requesting a change to your enrolment status. The letter must be counter-signed by your supervisors.

* International students must remain enrolled full-time for the duration of their candidature.

Withdrawal If you wish to withdraw from your program of study, please advise the Student Enquiries Officer, Research Student Centre in writing. Please note that if you withdraw from your degree, you cannot re-enrol again without re-applying for admission via UniAdvice.
