> What local Entrepreneurs are doing in the valley!
Following on from our 24th May meeting where we conducted a successful round of Lightning Talks, the UOW E-Club hosted an event on the 2nd August, with 3 inspiring speakers who presented to our group of budding entrepreneurs.
Key note speakers were:
- Local Gong guys Anthony Marcar and Stuart Argue who launched their start-up company Grabble 6 months ago. They spoke about their experience riding the roller coaster of a start-up incubator and subsequent move to Silicon Valley.
- Serial entrepreneur and local Geoff McQueen, believes that there has never been a better time to launch a Startup. Geoff will shared his experiences – from sleeping on the couch in the early days of Techcrunch and pitching to VC’s who invested in Facebook, Google and Yahoo, highlighting the unique advantages that being a startup with roots in Wollongong provides.
- Dr Stuart Johnstone, shared his software and its use in gaming and educational applications. The NeuroSky Mindset and Mindwave portable EEG (i.e. brain electrical activity) devices provide a method of integrating brain activity controls into gaming and educational applications.
