The SmallTutor project involved two research projects. Aim of the first was to develop a tutoring system for the learning of object-oriented programming. Smalltalk-80 as example was chosen. There esist some hypertext-learning units (in German) as well as tools for the visualisation and animation of Smalltalk programs. There is also a metric tool (all tools are bilingual: German and English).
Aim of the second project was to build a framework of an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) with all necessary tools to develop usable learning units on whatever subject. The result was an authoring system with editors for structuring the subject matter building the hypertext structures. The author's work can be analysed, then he will receive hints from the advisor module (all components are bilingual except the advisor module). During the learning session the hypertext structures are dynamically recognized (using planning techniques) depending on the student's knowledge stste.
