The proposal for creating an lnternet community amongst power systems educators in Asia-Pacific was highlighted in our questionnaire distributed at Australasian Power Engineering onference last year. This archive has specific pages to introduce Australasian Universities CAL/ Multimedia projects and another comprehensive page for Power Engineering Teaching/Learning Resources. Engineering education in general and Electrical Engineering education in particular has its own page along with listing of key contributions presented in regional Power Systems and Engineering Education conferences.
The Home Page also has pointers for introducing University of Wollongong to the Internet community. Research Groups and Research Centres within the Faculty of Informatics along with teaching and research programs within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering are also covered through appropriate hypertexfied material. A short tutorial on Web and its common terminologies is provided for new users.
The work will be fully publicized in due course through submissions to the
NCSA What's New Page, WWW various catalogs, and
postings to relevant WWW newsgroups and engineering education
(local/regional/interrnational) list-servers. I hope this would be a
starting point for the University of Wollongong to have more participation in
providing services to the global Internet community.
This task could not have been iinplemented without cooperation of the Informafion
Technology Services (ITS) staff to whom I am
grateful. Access to this Home Page can been made through the University of
Wollongong Home Page, or opening new location at the
URL address of http:/www.uow.edu.au/pwrsysed/
