The University of Wollongong and the local community welcome new students. It's easy to find your way around and there is a range of accommodation available.
Arriving in Australia
International and domestic flights arrive at the Sydney International Airport with the terminals connected by shuttle bus. Wollongong is 80 kilometres south of Sydney or about an hour by bus.
UOW Airport Pick-up Service
The University provides a free airport meeting service to transport international students from Sydney Airport to Wollongong. If you wish to use the Airport Pick-up Service, you must lodge an online application at least two weeks before your arrival in Australia.
You must advise the Accommodation Officer immediately should your flight details change. Confirmation of airport collection will be given by email if an email address is provided.
Bus and Train services to Wollongong
Should you choose not to take advantage of the free Airport Meeting Service, check with the Information Desk at Sydney Airport for more information about travelling to Wollongong by bus or train.
