Master of Information & Communication Technology (1998)
I attended the University of Wollongong for my Master of Information and Communication Technology in 1998, after completing a Bachelor degree in computer science from North South University in Bangladesh.
The moment I arrived at the campus, its pristine landscape took my breath away. The modern architecture blends seamlessly with nature to create an unparalleled beauty. The university is well-resourced with staff, books, research materials and computing labs.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Wollongong. The residential suburbs were well within our affordability. Besides, we discovered numerous amazing spots for adventure and “chilling out” in Wollongong.
In my first year, I also worked as a part-time Technical Support Staff and Web Programmer for the Information Technology Services department at the university.
After completing my Masters, I was enrolled in a research program to explore Data Warehousing and Multidimensional Database technologies under Dr Helen Hasan. During this time, I started working as a Lab Tutor for the Business Systems department. Towards the end of the first semester, I received a job offer from SAS, a global leader in Data Warehousing, Data Mining and
Business Intelligence software, which was too good to refuse. SAS was impressed with the Data Warehousing and Multidimensional Database knowledge and other work experience I received at the university. I worked there for five years in various technical and analyst capacities.
I am presently working as a Consultant in the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence department at Centrebet Pty Ltd, the largest privately owned online gaming company in Australia.
Every time I visit Wollongong, for leisure or work, I always make sure to spend some private time at one of my favorite places on earth, the University of Wollongong campus.

Master of International Business (2003)
I studied for my Master of International Business degree at the Sydney campus of UOW during 2002 – 2003, after graduating from East West University, Dhaka.
The way the university provides service to their students is simply great. The teachers and officials are very friendly and there are many support services for students. If you have a problem, there is someone there to help you – for example, when I hurt my wrist and had problems writing quickly, I went to the Disability Liaison Officer with proper documentation and she helped me a lot to overcome the matter by arranging extra time during examinations. Their support and help was really unforgettable.
It has already been proved that UOW is one of the top universities in Australia, based on teaching performance evaluations. It is a very well known and regarded university - after graduation, I received many offers from different organizations, with very good remuneration.
I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business & Economics, at Daffodil International University in Dhaka, teaching international business, HRM and business communication; as well as being the Coordinator of the Career Development Center. I am also currently working for a youth magazine called “Juinpa” as the associate editor and am in charge of the Advertising Club, Dhaka.
I just want to say that no one will get a better university education than UOW, considering all the factors. I wish the university every success and I am really proud to be a graduate of UOW.
