Travel within AustraliaWhat are my options? If you want to integrate travel into your time at university, there are options other than going overseas.
You might like to consider participating in one of the following subjects that combines travel within Australia with a special, intensive field subject:
- ARTS201: Field Studies in Northern Territory
- ARTS201: Field Studies in NSW South Coast and High Country.
Both subjects are run for three weeks and have a special focus on regional environmental and social issues.
The field subjects integrate natural, cultural and social investigations and incorporate 10 days in the field in the northern half of the Northern Territory, or the South Coast and Snowy Mountain regions of NSW.
Both subjects include indigenous and non-indigenous aspects of environment, culture and society.
Although the subject is only run over a three week period, it is still offered for full credit (8 credit points) towards your degree. Subjects are taken pre-semester, and therefore would not interfere with your regular session enrolment. Students are also recommended to include other subjects from the regular offerings in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences which focus on contemporary issues in Australian Society and Environment.
