Questions:

What excited you most about coming to uni?
The thing that excited me the most about uni was the chance to meet new people and make new friends. I was also excited about studying areas I was actually passionate about, rather then what I was required to learn.

Why did you choose your particular degree?
I chose my double degree as I love both creative arts and science and I couldn’t decide between the two. Wollongong let me do both.

What’s your favourite class? Why?
My favourite class is textiles as even after two years I’m still learning something new each year. Every week I am able to develop my practical skills, dyeing, sewing, making felt, which all lead towards my major work. Its great fun as I get to make art all day!

In your opinion, what’s the biggest difference between studying at high school and studying at UOW?
The flexibility in the timetable and the responsibility for my own work is the biggest difference between high school and uni. The way lectures treat you like an adult is also different.

What do you like best about Wollongong?
What I like best about Wollongong is the feeling of community. When you go out in Wollongong it’s big enough to feel like a city, yet small enough to not be intimidating. The environment is beautiful with the escapement and the ocean.

What activities are you involved in on-campus?
On campus I’m involved in lunch time sports which is a friendly mixed lunch time sports competition where you get to make a team of your friends. I play soccer.

What about off-campus?
Off campus, I surf, am involved in my local surf club, teach art classes at my local primary school and play clarinet.
