Introduction - 2013 and beyond

The University of Wollongong (UOW) is an enterprising university.  We have a global presence and a proud regional role.

Our culture is strongly collegial, positive and inclusive.  Our reputation is built on initiative reinforced by quality and high standards.  In 2012, UOW was ranked in the top 2% of research universities and as one of the leading newer universities in the world.  Our learning and teaching performance has achieved A1 ratings nationally and international recognition.

We have an unbeaten record of continuous five-star ratings for graduate outcomes.  Our student satisfaction is high and UOW staff register as the most passionate and positive respondents in the national Your Voice Workforce survey. 

The University is committed to enriching the cultural and social life of our communities and has a regional economic impact of over $1 billion annually.  Our business and financial base is sound and we have been early to develop and adopt new technologies and systems.

UOW is a diverse, smart and engaged community of campuses on-shore and sites offering its programs off-shore at UOW Dubai and in Malaysia (INTI Laureate), Singapore and Hong Kong. We aspire to making our mark nationally and internationally. 

The 2013-18 Strategic Plan is designed to recharge our sense of purpose in a time of institutional and global transition, when the challenges for higher education institutions have never been greater.

2013-18 Strategic Plan

In 2013, the University of Wollongong will move into a new five-year planning cycle.  The University Council approved the 2013-18 Strategic Plan on 19 October 2012, noting its evolution and its special attributes as a concise, focussed and motivating platform for action.
