Parking can be the pits

Lets face it, there are never going to be enough spaces for everyone to drive their car to the campus. Congestion and parking problems mean that it's much better if you can  use public transport, walk, ride a bike or carpool. Better for your health, your pocket and the environment too.

Where to Park

Parking on Campus is divided into different categories.

Pay & Display parking (P3 north, P4, P7 west, P8 south) in signposted spaces

  • Parking Station parking (P1, P6)
  • Carpool parking (P4 north)

Permit parking (P2, P3 south, P4, P5, P7, P8 north) in signposted spaces

  • Reserved parking

The first two of these categories are known as Ticket parking.

Most staff who drive opt for permit parking, though all of these options are available to staff.

Free carpool parking is limited to cars that have brought 3 or more people to the Uni.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in signposted spaces. The parking rules around the University are strictly applied and significant penalties apply..

Spaces are limited and permits do not guarantee a space – check availability now

First weeks of session

These weeks are invariably very congested and the roads around UOW are something to avoid. Why not try getting to work on the free shuttle bus, by public transport, walking or by bike, even if only for these few weeks. This will save you from the congestion, save you money and reduce your carbon footprint.

Permits & Tickets

Any vehicle parked on the Main Campus must display a valid parking ticket or permit. UOW Entry Permits are available to staff through salary deductions or by cash purchase, but do not guarantee a space. Apply now.  Reserved parking is also available, but is limited.

Carpool

Reduce your carbon emissions and share your ride. Find others travelling the same route and times as you on our online carpool system. Parking is free if you arrive with three or more people.

NRMA Meeting Points

If you break down, proceed to one of five roadside assistance meeting places. Phone the NRMA on the security telephone and quote the identification number on the sign at the meeting place.

Free Shuttle Buses

Have you tried the free shuttle buses. Running 7am-10pm between the University, Innovation Campus, North Wollongong, Wollongong City, Fairy Meadow, Gwynneville, Keiraville and part of West Wollongong, these are a great way to commute.

Cycling

Feel great and avoid congestion by cycling to work. Cycle parking is convenient and safe, and secure undercover parking is available at the Wollongong and Innovation Campuses.
