UOW National Careers Fair - Wednesday 16th April

Not tomorrow, but next Wednesday is the National Careers Fair held in the UniHall. Lock it into your schedule now!

At this particular fair you will NOT find a plethora of law firms. If you wanted to find out about law firms, you should have gone to the Sydney Law Careers Fair last Friday... over 40 law firms were there... and we did tell you to go!

What you WILL find at the UOW National Careers Fair is a range of alternative career options... with over one hundred firms in attendance.. and in a convenient location.. UniHall! Interested in who will be there? Check out the list of firms who will be attending.

For some useful tips on what to consider when talking to employers at the fair, check out the 'Be Prepared' list on the UOW Careers Service Website.

Please do make use of this wonderful opportunity... see who is there, ask them lots of questions, take their freebies and use the event as a tool to help you work out what you want to do when you finish your degree!

Kind Regards,

Levi Garry
for your UOW LSS

Sydney Law Careers Fair a great success!
UOW had an excellent presence at the annual law careers fair held at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre last Friday. If you didn't come this year, we expect to see you there next year! Your LSS does its best to organise a free coach service each year, so make sure YOU make use of it next year if you didn't this year!

The Annual LSS Pub Crawl
It's a long tradition that we have... we hire a bus and we paint the town red!

The Annual Pub Crawl will be held at the end of session. Watch this space for more info...

Senior Mooting Competition - Registrations Open
Show us your mooting skill! Register your senior mooting team now! The Faculty will be providing sponsorship to help our best mooters attend the National ALSA Championships in Tasmania this July. To be considered, you need to demonstrate a sound mooting ability (and winning our senior mooting comp is a very good way to do this!) To register, or for more information about the comp, email your details to Anthony Connor on apc074@uow.

A junior moot for first time mooters will be held in second semester.

Meet your publications team!
The LSS recently welcomed aboard two new members to the Publications Portfolio: Stephanie Bird as Vice President (Publications & Publicity) and Martin Rowney as a Publications Officer. Steph and Martin will be working with Publications Officer Mel Coade throughout the year to produce our annual publications... including some new ones!

Want to help?
If you would like to write an article for any of our publications, please contact Steph via email on sab998@uow. In particular, the publications team is looking to interview paralegals and any students who have completed summer clerkships.
