Welcome!
Autumn Session is already well and truly underway - the car parks are full, text books have sold out and people are being attacked by an ugly duck on the Duck Pond Lawn. This can mean only one thing... it's time to renew your LSS membership!
The LSS has had some structural changes at the start of the year, which means that we now have three categories of membership... Academic Membership, Social Membership and Faculty Membership. For new and returning students this means you have two options... you can become an Academic Member for free, which gives you the right to vote at our meetings and in our annual election, and the opportunity to participate in our competitions... and/or you can purchase your annual Social Membership for only $5.
Social Members will receive benefits similar to what paid members have enjoyed in the past... the first 200 to join will receive an ALSA showbag with LSS goodies inside, and all social members will receive a discount on entry to the Cocktail Party, Pub Crawl and Law Ball. As usual, we will also have a few BBQs throughout the year, which will be free for social members. So go on, what are you waiting for?
Get down to the McKinnon Lawn on Wednesday 5th March at lunchtime and renew your membership.
Free BBQ and can of drink for the first 100 to renew membership on the day.
See you soon!
Levi Garry
2008 LSS President
