Postgraduate Research FundingThe Faculty of Law administers funding for postgraduate research students to assist their research work. It is intended to assist students towards high quality theses and thesis completion. Research assistance for higher degree research students is drawn from the Faculty Research Fund, which is administered by the Associate Dean (Research), acting as Head of Postgraduate Studies. These funds are separate from research funds allocated by the University of Wollongong to university Research Strengths associated with the Faculty of Law, i.e.: the Institute the Conservation Biology and Law (ICB) and Oceans and Transnational Security (OTS -- comprising the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) and the Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention (CTCP)). Research Strength funds are administered directly by the directors of ICB and OTS, not by the Faculty of Law. Higher degree research students who are primarily supervised by a member of a Research Strength should apply for funding from ICB or OTS. (Exceptions will be made for students from CTCP where necessary.) Higher degree research students, who are enrolled at least 50% with the Faculty of Law and not primarily supervised by a staff member within ICB or OTS, are invited to apply for funding for the following research activities: • Fieldwork, using these guidelines, and • Conference Support, using these guidelines
