The Faculty of Law would like to invite you to attend the orientation session for 1st year LLB students on Wednesday, 20th February. The information session will be held in 67.104 (2-4pm). If you are not able to attend the orientation session, subject outlines can be collected from the Law Administration Office (67.239) after the orientation session. Please note that students will be expected to have completed the readings for the classes held in first week.

The timetable for the 1st Year LLB program has been organized in such a way that you will be with the same group of students for seminars in each of your subjects. This means that you are not required (nor permitted) to chose individual subject seminar slots from the timetable. You will be allocated to one of the ten groups, and will attend seminars in accordance with the timetable for your group. (For those subjects which have a lecture all students will attend at the same time.)

You will be invited to indicate which of the groups you would prefer to be in. The Timetable and Group Preference Sheet can be downloaded from the Faculty of Law website (http://www.uow.edu.au/law/UOW041219.html) from Monday, 4th February 2008. However, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated to your preferred group. You should be prepared to be on campus in accordance with any of the ten timetables.

Preference sheet are to be returned to the Faculty of Law by Monday 11 February 2008. Final group lists will be published on the law website Thursday 21 February.

Once you have been allocated to a group, you may not switch to another group, or any of the seminars associated with another group, without the express approval of the First Year Coordinator. Approval will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
