SeminarsResearch students in Law at the University of Wollongong are expected to participate in three types of seminars. Seminars are held irregularly. Dates for seminars are found though the links below, or check the discussion group (still being developed) and your e-mail messages.
- Research proposal preparation seminars address key issues in research and preparation for a research degree. They are arranged around the resource materals on this site. Research students are expected to attend these seminars in the first session of their enrolment. They are open to all research students in Law at Wollongong. Students of other faculties and universities may attend by prior arrangement. For further information, contact the Associate Dean (Research), Associate Professor Greg Rose.
- First year research proposal review seminars are generally held towards the end of each session as an opportunity for research students to present their research proposals. All higher degree reserach students are required to present their proposal in a seminar year during their first year of candidature.
- Work in progress seminars are organised throughout the year by the Faculty of Law and its specialist research centres. They are an opportunity for later year HDR students, staff and visitors to present on current research projects. All students are encouraged to attend.
As students gain more experience presenting in seminars in the faculty and in their own research centre, they are expected to move on to presenting papers at conferences. Assistance may be available to attend conferences where you are presenting papers.
