TelecommunicationsThe University of Wollongong's fully digital telecommunications network is enhanced by a comprehensive array of telecommunications services. As stated in the University's Telephone Policy, other devices may NOT be connected to the University's telecommunications network without permission from the Director of ITS [email]. The standard telephone provided to University staff for University business is the Interquartz telephone. The Meridian telephone is available for issue to Deans, Directors, Heads of Department or equivalent, Senior Executives and personal assistants to the above. Other staff who feel they may have a business need for the Meridian telephone can apply to the Director of ITS [email] for approval. Staff are reminded that telephones are provided for staff to conduct University business and personal use should be kept to a minimum. User guides are available on: ITS can help staff with:
- Telephone installations/moves/changes
- Resolution of telephone faults
- Common telephone faults and their remedies
- Interquartz telephone function codes
- Digital Services - Such as voice mail, messaging services (including telephonic menus), remote access, video conferencing, automatic call distribution and remote call forwarding.
- Tracking nuisance callers.
- Information - "How does my phone work? What can it do?"
- Research of special needs - We can devise a telecommunications strategy to suit your requirements.
ITS can provide departments with:
- Resolution of problems with core telecommunications equipment.
- Detailed Billing
- Quotes
- Advice - "How does our system work? How can we use it to communicate more effectively?" We can provide information on all aspects of the system your department is using. We can also tailor the system to meet your changing requirements.
