IT Support for Staff & StudentsStaffThe IT Support Unit provides technical support for the University community. This includes the provision and ongoing maintenance of desktop computers. Staff can access support via the UOW Intranet. For further information please contact the ITS Call Centre on 42213775 or email its@uow.edu.au StudentsApproximately 500 desktop computers are available for student academic use, 16 hours per day in the Central Computer Laboratories. The Central Labs also include eight teaching spaces and are the focal point for student enquiries about computing. IT Service CentreStudents experiencing difficulties in the computer laboratories or accessing network services can ask for assistance from the IT Service Centre (1st floor, building 17). Service Centre staff can help you with:
- Email - creating an account, expired accounts, forgotten passwords, sending messages.
- Using Laboratory Software - Microsoft applications, Email, web browsing for academic purposes, Windows, Mac OS, Unix, virus scanners, file transfer (Fetch/ftp), disk utilities.
- Using Laboratory Hardware - computers and printers
Students can also manage their own student account online: Assistance in the LabsRoving helpers are available during session to assist those students who may be new to computing. They will be in the Central Labs Monday - Friday from 11.30am - 2.30pm. Recommended Computer Standards
